Short-Term Stay After Hospital Admission
Patients that have been admitted to a hospital for a minimum of three nights may have the option for a short-term stay in our center to receive 24-hour Nursing care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy up to seven-days each week. Patients may also request a short-term Respite in-patient stay for periods of a few days to several months.

Patients that require a permanent in-patient stay may be admitted from the Hospital, Assisted Living Facility or Home after receiving an admission order from their primary physician.

[review] => Medicana is the second Rehab I’ve been in patient for in the past month. To compare the two.Medicana stands out by far. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was good for the most part. After all it is a Rehab Center. The staff were very efficient, friendly and accommodating. There are some I’d like to acknowledge by name. Monique the nurse manager was always friendly and available whenever I needed her or had questions about my medications. John, PT and Cheryl OT helped me so much in my speedy recovery. I went to Medicana on a stretcher and in a few weeks I’m now walking with a walker. Angelica in the dining room met all my requests. Keia the social worker was very friendly and efficient in arranging my intake and making sure I was comfortable, most importantly she worked with my VA caseworker on the phone and got me set up for discharge back home with help. The home health company came even came to see me before I left Medicana which made me feel comfortable. If there’s any complaint for me it would be there were a lot of insects, however on the day I left the exterminator did came in.

[review] => When I read these positive reviews, I feel like they must be kidding or are fake! That is what tricked me into feeling good about taking my dad there. My dad was there because no other facility would take him with Covid when he was discharged from the hospital. They told us to head over to get dad settled in. So pleasant and sweet from the sales side. We showed up and there was no room wating for him. They were surprised to see us. My dad had to sit in a crowded hallway slumped over in his wheelchair for more than an hour while they began to move people around so he can have a room. They knew we were headed there and did nothing. The remainder of his stay was no less than a nightmare that seemed to get worse as time went on. In rehab, they turned their back on him knowing he mind was not right, to work on a computer and he stood up and fell. Medications lists were not being processed and we had to make it happen with multiple complaints. Complain to the head nurse and watch him literally make "stuff" up to explain lecture style why his staff doesn't do what they should. He's a gem. Push a call button and see what happens. Nothing! Need help going to the bathroom, don't hold your breath. We had to hire private aids to keep dad safe as they could not. Don't let them fool you with their sales pitch, this is not a good place to send a loved one unless there is no other choice. Let's not even talk about the awful food or how filthy the outdoor area was. Or the screaming of mentally ill patients for hours. If you do go there, be prepared to fight for everything your loved one needs. You should know, they may tell you that you will get a single or double room. But you could just as easlily end up in a 6 bed dormatory style room. One TV and 1 toilet for 6 beds. Even if you start in a single or double, they can move you at their discretion to a 6 bed. Know that single and double rooms have as many as four patients that share one toilet. You should know that the rooms are tiny and the beds too. I could go on and on, but this is the reality of this place. I'm not saying that some of the staff didn't try, but they are overwhelmed and understaffed like all places. Just to get a cup of water or ice was always a challenge. Good luck.

[review] => I wish to highly recommend Medicana where my father is well taken care of and loves the staff and food. The staff are very caring. The social worker Kea Smith is exceptionally helpful, she’s goes above and beyond when it comes to patients and patients care and follow up. This is the only Nursing and Rehab center I have been to that made me feel at ease and comfortable. Others smelled of urine and the staff didn’t appear helpful or involved. The entire staff from medical to maintenance to front desk and kitchen staff are to be highly commended.

Nick the Rehab Director was very helpful and even rearranged my therapy schedule to Sunday when I made a special request. Every since I've been here Keia, my social worker and Monique the unit nurse manager have shown me so much care and compassion. Whenever I need anything they both are always willing to go above and beyond to make my stay here comfortable. The CNA's Fernelle, Fedlaine and Casandra always provide me with great service and help me with showering and care needs. The Activity staff come to my room and does my nails whenever I ask. Medicana even has a business office, Vanessa and Francine both helped me with all my financial questions. I've been to a few rehab facilities and overall Medicana is a great place. I'm truly grateful for all the people I've mentioned in this review.

The place is always cleaned well and is beautiful inside and out.very spacious and has a comfortable loving atmosphere. There is also a variety of fun activities such as a band and singing entertainment crafts, bingo and many other fun games! The residents are always happy and smiling and are extremely cared for 100% I strongly recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a Skilled Nursing facility for their love ones

REVIEWS
Medicana is the second Rehab I’ve been in patient for in the past month. To compare the two.Medicana stands out by far. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was good for the most part. After all it is a Rehab Center. The staff were very efficient, friendly and accommodating. There are some I’d like to acknowledge by name. Monique the nurse manager was always friendly and available whenever I needed her or had questions about my medications. John, PT and Cheryl OT helped me so much in my speedy recovery. I went to Medicana on a stretcher and in a few weeks I’m now walking with a walker. Angelica in the dining room met all my requests. Keia the social worker was very friendly and efficient in arranging my intake and making sure I was comfortable, most importantly she worked with my VA caseworker on the phone and got me set up for discharge back home with help. The home health company came even came to see me before I left Medicana which made me feel comfortable. If there’s any complaint for me it would be there were a lot of insects, however on the day I left the exterminator did came in.

I wish to highly recommend Medicana where my father is well taken care of and loves the staff and food. The staff are very caring. The social worker Kea Smith is exceptionally helpful, she’s goes above and beyond when it comes to patients and patients care and follow up. This is the only Nursing and Rehab center I have been to that made me feel at ease and comfortable. Others smelled of urine and the staff didn’t appear helpful or involved. The entire staff from medical to maintenance to front desk and kitchen staff are to be highly commended.
